From the Publisher’s Desk

Journal of Cardiac Critical Care (JCCC) https://jcardcritcare.org/ was launched in 2017 as a bi-annual journal with the aim to contribute toward the dissemination of clinical content addressing critical care developments and day-to-day interventions for the management of cardiac patients. The first four volumes continued with a bi-annual frequency; however, with the growing interest of the authors and readers, and the progressive growth of the journal, the journal had to develop into a tri-annual frequency in 2021 and has continued with it since then.

Over the years, JCCC has been catering to the growing needs of students, clinicians, and researchers in this super specialization, and while bringing out double-blinded peer-reviewed content through JCCC, the Simulation Society http://thesimulationsociety.net/ has been regularly hosting fellowships, educative webinars, and student workshops with a live demonstration of emerging technologies to help students and practitioners to improve their understanding and improvise their approaches of the changing landscapes and real-time challenges in critical care management of patients. In doing so, the journal has published a few specialized issues addressing topics such as the significance of nutrition in critical care patient management and developments with the Extracorporeal Membrane Oxygenation (ECMO) technique.

At Scientific Scholar, we are proud to have JCCC joining our ranks and becoming a key title in the Cardiology and Critical Care portfolios alongside the Indian Journal of Cardiovascular Disease in Women https://ijcdw.org/ and Indian Journal of Palliative Care https://jpalliativecare.com/. We are thankful to the Simulation Society for bestowing their trust in us as their publishing partners, and we are proud to share that in the very 1^st year of JCCC publishing with us, the journal got selected in the prestigious portal of EMBASE. In the last volume, the journal published engaging content ranging from Case Series to Point of Techniques and Original investigations, but above all, Review articles that are educative for the reader base, thus serving the unmet need to disseminate emerging content for this super specialty clinical category.

The journal published a unique case series addressing biomarker soluble urokinase plasminogen activator receptor (suPAR) in relation to ECMO as a risk prediction candidate.^[1] Students got educative material through a video presentation of Dacron Patch Closure of Multiple Ventricular Septal Defects,^[2] besides a beginner guide on Technical Aspects of Mitral Valve Replacement.^[3] An original investigation addressed tumor necrosis factor-alpha as a Prognostic Marker in pediatric patients undergoing intracardiac repair.^[4] The journal published on evidence-based medicine addressing its evolving challenges and opportunities.^[5]

Besides such diverse topics and article categories, the recent focus of the journal has been to publish a series of review articles, ranging from topics like role of VerifyNow on platelet reactivity,^[6] pharmacology of drugs and their kinetics^[7] with one review addressing specially remimazolam,^[8] endovascular aortic aneurysm repair,^[9] while regularly publishing on the focused topic of ECMO, from its role in Extracorporeal cardiopulmonary resuscitation^[10] to its role in utilization in Cardiogenic Shock^[11] besides several others.

Through such varied topics, the journal has been successfully bringing out engaging content for its focused reader base and shall continue to do so. As publishers, we feel very proud to be associated with this process, where we are contributing toward the development of patient care approaches and thus hopefully making a positive difference in healthcare services with the ultimate goal of saving patient lives.
